Sports: Men’s Volleyball
Entry semester: Fall 2026

This is Joris Wagenaar, a 17-year-old volleyball player living in Assen. At the age of eight, Joris started playing soccer, followed by two years of athletics. Joris discovered his passion for volleyball at a local tournament in his hometown. Since the age of fourteen he has been playing at the volleyball club Sudosa-Desto.

What makes Joris special as a person is his ambition and drive to make his dreams come true. Off the field, he is caring, open and a real people person.

What really sets Joris apart as an athlete is his mentality. He is a player, who always puts his team above everything else and does everything he can to win together. In addition, he is an offensive player with good vision on the field.

In the future, Joris hopes to further develop himself in America, both as an athlete and as a student. Joris wants to play at the highest level he can handle and use his studies to lay a foundation for his future.
