Julien Jansen – Men’s Track & Field

In this article, we tell you more about student-athlete Julien Jansen. Additionally, at the bottom of this article, you will find the video in which Julien shares more about himself.

Sports: Men’s Track & Field
Entry semester: Fall 2025

Julien Jansen is a 17 years old and comes from Zwolle. In Zwolle, he still lives at home with his parents and his sister. Julien started practicing athletics when he was 9 years old.

Currently, Julien trains 4 times a week, often with long-distance sessions. In addition, Julien also practices football. He trains 2 times a week and plays a match every Saturday.

What makes Julien special as a person is that he is very social. He is good at making new connections and enjoys socializing with others. When Julien arrives at a new place, he likes to start conversations to feel more comfortable.

As an athlete, Julien is very disciplined, and on the football field, he is also a leader. He enjoys helping his teammates and has a lot of perseverance. Where others stop, Julien keeps going.

At the age of 15, Julien tore his ACL, which left him sidelined for 18 months. However, he was determined to come back stronger. Julien is very proud of his achievements in both sports, but he knows that he has not yet reached his full potential.

Julien’s goal in the United States is to become a better athlete and to compete in European or even world championships. Additionally, he wants to become more independent and make sure he has a great time with his classmates.
