Sports: Men’s Basketball

Entry semester: Fall 2025

This is Koen Thijssen, a 16-year-old basketball player with a lot of energy and passion for basketball. He lives with his mother in Nijmegen and father in Driel. Sports have always played a big role in his life. As a child he combined soccer and tennis, but eventually found his real passion in basketball. His father used to play as well, and at age twelve Koen decided to give it a try himself. Since then, he has never been away from the court.

Koen is known as an enthusiastic and cheerful team player. Trainers praise him for his passion, trainability and game insight. He understands the game at a deep level and works on his development every day. His energy and commitment make him a valuable player for any team.

In America, Koen not only wants to develop as a basketball player, but also become physically stronger. He wants to play as much as possible, enjoy the experience and take his skills to the next level. His ultimate goal is to push his limits and get the most out of his time in the US.
