In this article, we introduce you to student-athlete Livia Buningh. Livia is a driven volleyball player with big ambitions who plans to start at an American university in the Fall of 2026. Read on to learn more about her athletic background, unique qualities and future plans.

Livia Buningh is from Berkel en Rodenrijs, Netherlands, where she lives with her family. Before focusing entirely on volleyball, Livia was in field hockey for five years. She was always a fan of volleyball, especially during vacations when she and her parents played a game of volleyball together. Her parents are volleyball players themselves, and this made Livia want to further develop her passion for the sport. In 2019, she made the move to a club and joined Volley2B, where she has continued to develop as a volleyball player ever since.
Livia is a social person who never prejudices others. She is always positive and always tries to see the good in everything and everyone. She strives to make others feel comfortable and tries to make people laugh, which endears her to her team and environment.
As an athlete, Livia is determined to be the best possible version of herself, and she encourages others to do the same. She is a highly trainable player who listens carefully to her teammates and coach. She uses the feedback she receives to become a better player and to keep her team motivated and focused. Livia also finds it very interesting to talk about volleyball tactics, which further enhances her understanding of the game.
In America, Livia hopes to grow not only as a volleyball player, but also as a person. She wants to become more independent, learn new things both mentally and physically, and challenge herself in a variety of areas. Combining her studies and playing volleyball at a high level is the ideal opportunity for Livia to realize her goals.
