Sport: Men’s Track & Field
Entry semester: Fall 2027
This is Olivier van Rijn, an ambitious track & field athlete from the Netherlands. Sport has played an important role in his life for a long time. He played soccer and tennis at a regional level and hockey at the second-highest national level. For about six months now, he has been focusing on track & field, a sport he immediately became enthusiastic about.
What particularly appeals to Olivier is that every detail within athletics can influence your development. As an athlete, he is strongly focused on performance and always wants to get the most out of himself during competitions. At two meters tall, he also has a long stride, which he sees as an important advantage.
Olivier describes himself as sociable and easily connects with other people and athletes. At the same time, he is independent and can find his own way when necessary.
In the United States, Olivier wants to surround himself with other ambitious athletes and develop further as both a student and an athlete. His major goals are to perform at a national level, eventually reach the Olympic Games and inspire others to get the best out of themselves.
For his future team, Olivier mainly wants to bring energy, discipline and positivity. He wants to motivate his teammates and contribute to better performances within the team.
“My main goals in life are competing at the Olympics, inspiring others to get the best version of their self, and making a living out of the thing I love the most, sports.” – Olivier van Rijn
