Rosalie ten Bruggencate – Women’s Track & Field

In this article, we tell you more about student-athlete Rosalie ten Bruggencate. In addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which Rosalie tells more about herself.

Sports: Track & Field
Entry semester: Fall 2026

This is Rosalie ten Bruggencate, a 16-year-old athlete from Broek op Langedijk. As early as the age of six, she participated in track & field events. Her brother, who was eight years old at the time, competed. In the beginning she watched, but soon decided to take up the challenge herself – especially long distances appealed to her.

Rosalie is a caring and flexible person who adapts easily to new environments. She enjoys meeting new people and expects to feel at home quickly in America as well. Her determination and perseverance ensure that she never gives up and always strives to improve. In doing so, she takes her recovery – from sleep and nutrition to training – very seriously so she can perform at her best.

In terms of sports, Rosalie wants to further develop her potential on the track. She has already proven what is in her by winning 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the national championships. In America, she wants to qualify for international tournaments and win national championships, such as the European Championships. She also enjoys meeting other students and learning more about American culture.

Her ultimate goal is the Olympics, a milestone she sees as an essential part of her future athletics team. Thanks to her determination, she manages to finish every race to the end and can’t wait to compete with her team against other teams.

“What makes me special as an athlete is that I am determined to reach my goals and that I never give up.”
