Slamstox has been growing fast and we are very happy to keep helping student-athletes pursuing their collegiate athletic dreams. To keep up with our anticipated growth, we’ve added two new team members to our squad: Martijn Koenen and Laura Rijkers. Who are Martijn and Laura?
Martijn Koenen
Martijn will join Slamstox as a soccer scout and soccer specialist. After following several studies related to coaching and psychology, Martijn started working as a professional soccer coach. He has trained high level players at Lommel SK and Willem II, and currently works as a youth coach at Ajax Amsterdam. Martijn is eager to give talented and hard-working players the opportunity to develop themselves on ánd off the pitch:
“I’m passionate about helping players achieve their goals and dreams. To do this at Slamstox, focused on my favorite country, the US, makes it a very cool and challenging opportunity.”

Laura Rijkers
We’ve known Laura for a very long time. We already followed her at a young age when she was making big strides on the Dutch tennis courts as a junior. We then helped her in a great collaboration to play college tennis. In January 2019, Laura left for the US to play tennis at University of Arkansas. She’s steadily part of the best 10 Dutch college tennis players and competes in the Southeastern Conference. During the summer of 2021, Laura will pursue an internship at Slamstox to gain working experience and to help other tennis players in their college recruiting process:
“I’m interested in working for Slamstox because I love helping student-athletes through the process that I successfully completed. What I like about Slamstox is their forward-looking mentality and the fact that they really build personal connections with their athletes.”
