Slamstox student-athletes Nyls Korstanje and Else Praasterink to Olympic Games in Paris.

Many top athletes dream of it their entire lives: obtaining the coveted ticket to the Olympic Games. Several athletes who come through Slamstox also have this ambition. Two of them have already succeeded and will be heading to Paris this summer: Nyls Korstanje and Else Praasterink.

Nyls Korstanje is one of the original Slamstox student-athletes. As early as 2018, he flew to America to attend North Carolina State University to pursue his big dream: competing in the Olympic Games. The swimmer achieved this dream just a few years later. In 2021, he participated in the postponed Tokyo Games, competing in the 100-meter butterfly and the mixed 4×100-meter medley relay. Since the qualification period is not yet over, it is not yet known in which disciplines Nyls will participate in these upcoming editions. However, we at Slamstox are convinced that he will be there in Paris and will compete for a medal!

Else Praasterink is currently studying and training in America, she started at the University of Louisville but has recently made a transfer to Texas A&M. As a debutant in diving, she impressively finished 11th at the World Championships in 2022. A year later, she competed again at the World Championships and also qualified for the European Games. This year, she adds participation in an even more prestigious tournament: the Olympic Games. Else will compete on the 10-meter platform on Monday, August 5th, with the final of this event taking place on Tuesday, August 6th. We hope to see her in action there!

Do you want to follow in the footsteps of Nyls and Else and also compete at the Olympic Games? Do you think that combining studying and sports in America is the best option to achieve that? Then quickly get in touch with Slamstox to see what’s possible.
