After graduating from high school at the Center for Sports and Education in Zwolle, Nienke had dreams of moving abroad. In the United States, she managed to combine her passion for field hockey with earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Her original plan was to stay only one year, but these ended up being five unforgettable years, and in 2023 she returned with degrees from Temple University in Philadelphia. During her time at Temple, she was named to the All Tournament, All Conference and All Region Teams.
After her time at Temple, Nienke returned home and began her professional career in Germany, where she worked as an athlete manager, primarily active in field hockey and tennis. Nienke is the International Student-Athlete Coordinator at Slamstox, helping students with the final steps before leaving for the United States. She is also active as a boarding school specialist where she helps young sports find the right boarding school.
