In this article, we tell you more about student-athlete Finn de Jong. In addition, below you will find the video in which Finn tells more about himself.
Sport: Men’s Tennis
Entry semester: Fall 2027
This is Finn de Jong, an ambitious tennis player from the Netherlands who currently plays for OLTC in Oegstgeest. With a rating of 5.4 and a strong passion for sport, Finn works hard on his development both on and off the court.
Finn started playing tennis at Tehado in Hazerswoude and later played at Unicum in Leiden before making the move to OLTC. Although he has been playing tennis for many years, he did not start training and playing tournaments seriously until 2023. Precisely because of this, Finn still sees a lot of room to develop himself further. “I have played fewer games than many players of my level, so I believe there is still a lot of growth possible.”
One of his finest achievements to date was winning the 2023 Karstner Cup in Tyrol, Austria, in the boys only U15 category.
Besides tennis, Finn is a true all-round athlete. For example, he played competitive soccer for years as a striker, obtained his golf license at a young age and enjoys spending time in the mountains skiing or hiking.
With his athletic background, eagerness to learn and motivation, Finn is looking forward to the next step in his tennis career and wants to continue to challenge himself at the international level.
“My goal is to keep improving my game and reach my full potential as a tennis player.” – Finn de Jong
