Lars Jung – Men’s Basketball

In this article, we tell you more about student-athlete Lars Jung. In addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which Lars tells more about himself.

Sports: Men’s Basketball
Entry semester: Fall 2025

This is Lars Jung, a 20-year-old athlete from Groningen with an international background. His mother is Spanish, his father German, and thanks to his time at an international school, English is his strongest language. At the age of eight, Lars started playing basketball, inspired by his older brother, who spent hours showing him clips of Derrick Rose. That was the moment he knew basketball was his sport.

What makes Lars special as a person is his ambitious and energetic nature. Both on and off the field, he brings positive energy to the team and knows how to motivate and help his teammates. Despite his energetic game, he always remains calm and focused, which makes him a reliable player in difficult situations.

As an athlete, Lars stands out for his defensive mindset. He gets a lot of pleasure out of this. Offensively, his strength lies in creating chances for his teammates, always keeping an eye on the game.

In the future, Lars hopes to play in America or Europe at the highest level possible, surrounded by top coaches and players who, like him, will give anything to get better. His goal is to make basketball a permanent part of his life and overcome every challenge that comes his way.

“I want to play against the best players and overcome any challenge that stands in my way.”

Lars Jung
