    Marten Coerts – Men’s Tennis

    In this article we tell you more about student-athlete Marten Coerts. In addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which Marten tells more about himself.

    Sports: Men’s Tennis
    Entry semester: Spring 2026

    This is Marten Coerts, a tennis player from the Netherlands aged 18, living in Apeldoorn. Marten started playing soccer at age seven, but later changed his mind and started playing tennis. Since then, no sport could come between him and his tennis racket. Marten is a real sportsman. In fact, besides tennis, he does snowboarding, golf, and padel. Still, tennis is his absolute number one sport.

    What makes Marten special as a person is that he is always positive, driven, and eager to learn new things. Marten consistently brings good energy to the people around him. He enjoys working with different types of people and often helps others improve as well.

    What really sets Marten apart as an athlete is that he focuses on improving his game every day. He loves to train, listens well and always finds a way to improve. Marten has good fitness, but is also mentally and technically very strong. He shows this in both singles and doubles.

    In the future, Marten hopes to grow as a person in America, get the most out of his sport and get good grades in school. He would like to improve his English, discover a new culture and prepare himself for a career in business. He wants to do all this while being busy doing what he enjoys most, playing tennis. His life goals are to stay healthy and happy, continue to play sports at a high level, start a family someday and pursue a career in business. In college, Marten will add value through his hard work, team spirit and positivity.
