Mathijs Aalpol – Men’s tennis

In this article, we will tell you more about student-athlete Mathijs Aalpol. Furthermore, at the bottom of this article, you will find the video in which Mathijs shares more about himself.

Sports: Tennis

Entry semester: Spring 2024

Mathijs is 17 years old and lives in Heeze. He comes from a true tennis family, as they all play tennis. When Mathijs was 6 years old, he was playing both tennis and soccer, but from the age of thirteen, he fully focused on tennis. Mathijs is very sociable and fits well in a group. In a group, he can take on both a listening and a leadership role.

Furthermore, Mathijs has type 1 diabetes, but he makes the best of it and has become very organized, which is reflected in his sportsmanship. Mathijs is also a player who is always willing to go the extra mile for the team. He wants to motivate his teammates to improve as a team and achieve the best performance.

During his time in America, Mathijs wants to make significant strides in tennis so that he can take on the world’s top players after his time there. His life goal is to become the best tennis player he can be and look back, knowing that he has given it his all.
