Sports: Volleyball
Entry semester: Fall 2024

Tess Spaansen is a volleyball athlete from the northern parts of the Netherlands. She already began playing volleyball at the age of 5, when she went to practice with her big sister to be a ball kid. Shortly after, she realized she wanted to play volleyball herself. Besides volleyball, she also played tennis and judo, but she likes all kinds of sports.

She is always energetic and she wants to say “yes” to everything that she gets asked. But nevertheless, she knows her boundaries. Tess is a helpful person who loves walking outside with her dogs, skiing, snowboarding and everything active.

As an athlete, Tess will never give up, she will keep trying under any circumstances. Also when her teammates are having a hard time, she will try to be supportive and help them in any way she can. Her block is very powerful because of her height, but her defense is good as well, because of her speed.
