Strengths:

Jesse boasts a formidable arsenal on the tennis court, with his service and forehand being his standout weapons. His physical and mental strength, combined with exceptional speed around the court, make him a dangerous player in many situation. He moves exceptionally well for a player his height (6'4) and has a lot of upside to further improve his aggressive gamestyle. We believe that his game would transition well to the US hard courts and that he can make a serious impact on many college teams. Jesse is known for his sociable and team-oriented personality. His ability to connect with others and work collaboratively reflects his character as a true team player. Furthermore, he comes from a true tennis family, highlighting his deep-rooted connection to the sport!

Areas for Improvement:

While Jesse excels in many aspects of the game, he is committed to elevating his volleys to use them as a more frequent weapon. Additionally, he is working on enhancing his footwork for improved court positioning, aiming to elevate his overall game. With his big frame and strong serve, Jesse has the potential to become a very good doubles player.

Goals:

With a strong desire to excel, Jesse's goal is to break into the top 25 rankings in the Netherlands, a testament to his ambition and determination. During his time in college he wants to become the best version of himself, while also putting focus on his academics.

Playing History:

Jesse has been an active participant in junior tournaments since the age of twelve. He has also made significant contributions to regional competitions with his club league team. His journey in senior tournaments began at the age of 15, starting at level 8 and progressing to his current ranking in the 4/3 category. Jesse continues to compete in senior categories, and his continuous involvement reflects his commitment to growth as a player. Throughout his development, he has received guidance and training from the same coach at Leeuwenbergh since he was 12.

Academics:

Jesse's commitment to excellence extends beyond the tennis court to his academic pursuits. He has followed bilingual education (Dutch / English) from age 12 to 16. Looking to graduate from the highest academic high school in the Netherlands and maintaining a GPA of 3.78 showcases his dedication to education. His strong performance on standardized tests, with a score of 1320 on the SAT and 140 on the Duolingo English Test, underscores his commitment to academic success. Jesse is planning on graduating in June 2024 and will enroll in college as a freshman. Jesse aspires to study engineering and is actively exploring various pathways within the field.
