Marit Mensinga

Marit currently plays for Limes in their highest U18 team and their women’s team as a middle blocker. Known for her selflessness and dedication to the team, Marit is a true team player who gives her all in every match

One of Marit’s biggest strengths as a middle blocker is for sure her outstanding blocking technique. She has impeccable timing and knows how to use her height well to dominate at the net. Her imposing presence creates a formidable barrier for opponents, often resulting in crucial points won through her strong blocks. 

Another valuable element of her game is her powerful service. Which gives her the ability to score some free points for her team and put pressure on the opposing side.

Despite her strengths, Marit is committed to continuous improvement. She recognizes the importance of enhancing her jumping height to further develop her attacking skills, to become a better volleyball player overall. 

Her relentless work ethic is reflected in her rigorous training regimen, which includes multiple sessions per week, including additional training outside of her regular team practices to accelerate her development.

Academically, Marit is currently enrolled in her last year of high school in the Netherlands, in the HAVO level, and is on track to graduate in June 2024. Following her graduation, she plans to take a gap year to focus on volleyball before starting college as a freshman in the fall of 2025. She hasn’t decided what she wants to major in yet, and is open to exploring multiple options.
