Joska Nelis

Joska began her golf journey at 13 years old at the Haarlemmermeersche Golfclub. Engaging in competitions like NK-18 and NK-21 for the NGF from the age of 16, she demonstrated her early commitment to the sport. At 16, Joska joined golfTON, and in January 2023, she made the transition from her initial golf club to the Noordwijkse Golfclub. Since 2023, she has been actively participating in international tournaments as well.

Her strongest aspects lie in the mental part of the game – discipline, motivation, and hard work. Her strategic approach to short game play, coupled with a tactical mindset on the course, sets her apart. She possesses the ability to remain calm, shutting out external distractions and focusing on her personal development. This self-directed approach is reflected in her dedication to creating a weekly training schedule, providing structure to her continuous improvement and making structural process evaluations. Her commitment to hard work is evident in her pursuit of goals with a "sky is the limit" mentality. The weekly schedule not only guides her training but serves as a tool to identify areas for further improvement.

Noteworthy Improvements:

Over the course of the last year (2023), witnessed significant improvement in the World Handicap System (WHS), progressing from 13 to an impressive 2.9 at the moment.Highlighted a standout performance by playing a remarkable round of 73 at the Noordwijkse Golfclub this year, showcasing prowess on the home course and achieving a personal best.

Joska graduated from high school in the summer of 2023. She is now in a gap year and fully focussing on her golf game to improve as much as she can. She is not sure on what major she is interested in.
