Marko started playing volleyball at a young age. He joined the RTC (regional training center) at the age of 12, to be able to play volleyball with other talented players from his area. Two years later, at the age of just 14 he joined the first men’s team of Kalinko (third division).  In 2023 he made a transfer to Habithuis RVV, to play at a higher level (first division); after a successful first season and a promotion to Top division he’s now a starting player with RVV.

Marko is really tall, he knows how to use his height well on the court and is strong in blocking. He is also tactically strong and knows where to put the ball to score a point. 

Maybe Marko doesn’t have the fastest approach but certainly has an acceleration in his arm rotation. This and his overview allows him to reach all angles effortlessly with his striking arm. Whether he’s hitting or passing, everything seems to be effortless. He is gifted with natural talent and rarely makes unforced errors.

Marko briefly trained with the Dutch national junior team (<16). Last year he won the Dutch Indoor championship (<18).

During his time in the States, Marko wants to increase his training intensity and become even stronger, faster and more explosive. To become the best volleyball player he can be. 

Besides playing Indoor volleyball, Marko also played beach volleyball during his youth. When he was 15 years, he won bronze at the Dutch national championship (<17). 

Marko graduated high school in the VWO level (highest level of high school in the Netherlands), in June 2024. He is mostly interested in economic or business related studies. Marko is currently in a gap year and start his college journey in the fall of 2025.
