To get admitted into American Universities, the admission departments at universities do not only look at your high school transcripts and your GPA (grade point average). They also require standardized test scores for admissions. These tests can include the SAT or ACT, TOEFL, IELTS or DuoLingo English test. Your scores on these tests do not only determine whether or not you will get accepted by the university, but can also influence your academic scholarship.

Do I have to make all the tests?

The admission tests you must take can differ per person and university. Most schools do ask for a
language test for non-native English speakers, so the TOEFL, IELTS or DuoLingo is usually required.

In addition, it is common to take the SAT test. This test is for everyone, including American students,
to be admitted to a school. Currently, due to Covid-19, the SAT is not mandatory for admissions for
some universities. This also differs from situation to situation.

Is it not clear for your situation which admission tests are best for you to take? Slamstox can help you
make the right decision!
