Maud van Kempen

Maud started her diving career at a young age. Already at the age of 12 she was coached by Nora Barta (4-time olympian), competed in her first big international competition on Las Palmas and already became a 3x Dutch national champion in the 12-13 age group! At the age of 14 she was requested to train in the National team. Since then her development went really well. At the age of 15 she started to focus on more difficult dives on platform and got physically stronger due to guided athletic training. 

During Maud’s career she has had some great successes at multiple different national and international events. At the age of 15 she even got invited to compete in the 2021 European Junior Championships in Croatia. There she finished 17th place on platform. This jumpstarted her international career:

4x Dutch National Champion Junior 16-18 2022 (1m, 3m, platform & synchro)

3rd place platform Junior 16-18 at Bergen Open 2022 (Norway)

3rd place 1 meter Junior 16-18 at Gamma Cup 2022 (Sweden)

Her strengths are her entries, power on the springboard and her posture in specific dives. 

Maud is currently in 11th grade of high school and is expecting to graduate in the summer of 2024. She is looking to do a bachelor in the field of Psychology.
