Noor van Duin

Level

Noor currently plays for Alphen U18-1. Throughout her career, she has always played at some of the highest levels of Dutch youth hockey (Super, Subtop). When Noor was 12 years old, she was invited to participate in the trials of the District Team selection. Noor frequently plays with the Women 1 or Women 2 team in addition to her own team's games, allowing her to get used to a more physical style of play.

Playing style

Noor is an athletic and skilled midfielder who has the ability to distribute and eliminate. She plays with her eyes up and is able to position herself in dangerous attacking positions through prescanning and the right receptions. Noor has great endurance and the ability to cover a lot of ground. She has quick hands and a great basic skill set that allow her to hold onto the ball and play with poise. 

Additional information

Noor knows the importance of working hard to reach ambitious goals. The 2022-2023 season marked the first year an Alphen team had made it to the Super league (the second highest level of youth hockey in The Netherlands). Noor is also a talented dancer, starting at age 3 and combining it for a long time at a high level with field hockey.

Academics

Noor is in her final year of the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) and is following most of her classes in English. She is expected to graduate in June 2024. She is planning on taking the SAT and Duolingo in December.

Noor is looking forward to following in the footsteps of her sister Maud (started college in the US in Fall 2022) and join a competitive college field hockey program in the Fall of 2024.
