Do you want to study in America? Then the SAT test is an important step in your admission process. This standardized test is accepted by almost all American universities and is designed for students who want to enter after high school.
The SAT test consists of two main sections: Math and Language (English), each with a maximum score of 800 points. So your total score can reach 1,600 points. There is also an optional essay section, but this is no longer required at most universities.
Who is the SAT intended for?
The SAT test is especially relevant for students who want to go to America right after high school. Have you already attended college or university in the Netherlands? Then you usually do not need to take the SAT – in that case you fall under the so-called “transfer student” status.
When and where can you take the SAT?
The SAT is offered several times a year at various testing locations in the Netherlands, such as Wassenaar and Maastricht. Test days usually fall in the months of August, October, December, March, May and June. You can find all current dates on the official SAT website.
