Emma Berkhof started playing volleyball at a young age, she already joined the senior teams. She currently plays and trains for the second women’s team of Alterno. Before playing volleyball at Alterno, she already played for the first women’s team of SDS at the age of 14. 

Emma is an enthusiastic opposite with great attacking and blocking skills, however she can also play as an outside hitter in a team. Emma is currently 6’2, but is still growing. She is motivated to become a better volleyball player and is improving real quick.

One of her biggest strengths are blocking skills. She knows how to use her height well and has a great timing to set up a strong block. 

During her time in the United States, Emma wants to become the best volleyball player she can be, become important for the team and improve her attacking skills even more by being more explosive and improving her timing. 

Emma is currently enrolled in high school, in the VWO level, the highest level of high school in the Netherlands. She expects to graduate in June 2025. Emma has not decided what she wants to major in.
