Finn Damhoff

Finn started his track career at age 12 doing multiple events such as sprints, jumps, throws and distance running. This contributed greatly to his physical development and make him a very well-rounded athlete. His tall and strong physique made him specialize in the throwing events and he improved quickly. Finn has competed in many national meets since then. 

Quickly after Finn engaged in Track & Field, he figured he’s mostly talented in throwing events. He is currently training for his club team AV Haarlem and at AV Lycurgus and has two professional and experienced coaches. Finn had various successes in his athletic career so far, such as being a 4x back-to-back club champion. He has been ranked 8th, 5th and 12th in The Netherlands previous season. His main athletic goal in the U.S. is to compete at big meets, improve as an athlete and perform at his best for his university team. 

One of Finn’s biggest strengths is ability to learn. He is good at technique training and works hard to improve any small detail in his technique to become a better athlete. Finn is dedicated to put in hard work and goes to the fullest every practice. Currently, he is working to improve his turning technique in both shot and discus. We believe that this hard-working athlete has lots of potential to improve, especially when he applies all the skills he’s learning at practice this upcoming indoor season.

Shotput: 12.11m (6kg)

Shot: 12.71m (5kg)

Discuss: 31.06m (1.5kg) 

Discuss: 31.66m (1.75kg)

Finn does train and compete in the hammer sometimes. So he would be open to be doing that in the states as well. 

Finn’s height is 181cm (5’11) and he weighs 95kg (209 lbs).

Finn is also a very dedicated and good student looking for a strong academic program. He is interested in multiple study areas such Aviation, Political science or Business. Finn is currently enrolled in his senior year in high school in The Netherlands (HAVO) and is expected to graduate in the summer of 2024.
