Frederique den Hartog

Level 

Frederique was selected for the Westland Women 1 team for the 2023-2024 season and is playing the Eerste Klasse (the fourth highest league for senior teams in The Netherlands). For the past few years, Frederique has played for the Women 1 and the youth teams for Ommoord. She was selected to the Women 1 team as still a junior (U18) player to continue her development as a goalkeeper. As a U18 and U16 player, Frederique played at some of the highest levels of youth hockey (Subtop/Super). During her time as a youth player, Frederique has been asked frequently to join higher teams in the region, but has always chosen to stay loyal to her club. This way, she could have a more leading role in her team and take her club to the next level. 

Playing style

Frederique strengths are her speed and agility. She thinks fast and has quick reflexes. Besides that, she has shown strength in her communicative skills on the field. As a person, Frederique is very friendly and likeable with her heart in the right place. She also has a great team spirit. Frederique always has the drive to develop herself and will always give 110%. 

High performance 

Besides her normal team practices, Frederique has been doing weekly training sessions at GoalieWorks for the past 6 years. She is in the top level group, trained by Dutch international goalkeeper Pirmin Blaak and Simon Zijp. 

Additional information

Frederique has lot's of experience in important games. During her career, Frederique won several indoor and outdoor league championships. She also has experience in coaching and training youth teams and goalies. 

Academics

Frederique is a dedicated student that would love to study either communication or marketing. She is excited to find a school that matches her athletic and academic ambitions. She is expected to graduate MBO 4 (comparable to the HAVO track in Dutch high school) in July of 2024

She is looking forward to joining a college field hockey program, starting in the Fall of 2024.
