Isabel Soeters

Level

Isabel currently plays in the U18-1 team of Hurley at the highest level of Dutch youth hockey (National league/Landelijk) and has been playing at the highest level for most of her career. She is one of the go-to players on her team. Isabel has been regularly practicing with Hurley Women 1 at the Hoofdklasse level (the highest league of senior hockey in The Netherlands in which a lot of international level players play) since she was 14 years old. When she was 15 years old, Isabel played her first Hoofdklasse (outdoor and indoor) games for the Women 1 team. Since then, she has played in several Hoofdklasse games.

Playing style

Isabel is a well-rounded midfielder who likes to connect with her teammates through smart passing and sticking with the play. She is known for her ability to create attacking 2v1’s and break the lines. Isabel’s spacial awareness and explosive start to her sprint, allow her to eliminate and blow by defenders in one reception. She also has the poise to hold onto the ball when needed and create space for her teammates. Additionally, she has a strong shot on goal with a quick release. Isabel is always eager to learn and improve and has set herself the goal for the upcoming season to become a better defender.

High performance

Isabel was a three year member of the North-Holland district team, a team with the 20 best players of her age group in the region. From this team players are selected to the Dutch national youth teams.

Accomplishments/accolades

Isabel has participated in several National Championship tournaments with her club teams: U14 and U16 outdoor finals and U18 indoor finals.

Academics

Isabel is a strong and motivated student and is expected to graduate the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) in June 2024. She has a strong interest in studying something in the medical field.
