James Versteege

James just started playing volleyball two years ago. During his youth he played a lot of field hockey, at the age of 16 he decided to switch sports and started playing volleyball. Over the last two years James has proved that he is a hard worker, he improved his game extremely quickly and played this year for their first and second men’s team (top division / second division). 

Besides playing for the second men’s team, James will also join the first men’s team, playing top division (second highest level in the Netherlands). This season, besides playing as a middle, he will also play as an opposite. 

James uses his height well, as well as in attacking and blocking and has a great timing as it comes to blocking skills. 

His motivation, drive to improve and the ability to learn new things quickly makes him a great team player and ambition person. During the summer season, James also plays beach volleyball to improve even faster, technically wise. 

James is looking forward to his time in the States, to learn more new things from his future teammates and improve his overall game in a team environment. 

James is currently enrolled in high school at the Atheneum level, the highest level of high school in The Netherlands. He expects to graduate in June 2024. James is mostly interested in majoring in psychology, sports education or something related.
