Jasmijn Roelofsen

Level

Jasmijn is currently playing for NMHC Nijmegen U18-1, competing in the second highest youth competition in the Netherlands (Super A). Jasmijn decided to switch clubs at the age of 12 as she previously played for HCOB (Overbetuwe). She chose to play for Nijmegen because of her passion and dedication to train as much as possible at a great level. Her talent didn’t go unnoticed and she was asked to play in an older age group to help the team. She is supposed to play with the U16-1 team but is now gaining experience playing against girls who are older than her. Jasmijn was also selected for the regional team U15 (North/East-Netherlands). She is also invited to try out for the Dutch national team U16.

Playing Style

Jasmijn is a very smart defender/midfielder who plays with speed and intensity. She is very forward-oriented and always looks to connect with her attackers and midfielders. She understands the game and knows where to look to find the next pass. She has great tactical insight that allows her to open up the field and create a dangerous attack all the way from the back. On top of that, she has the ability to throw an aerial ball which adds another skill that is useful during the game. Jasmijn has big ambitions and wants to challenge herself every practice to be the best player she can be. She is a true team player that puts the team above the individual.

Academics

Jasmijn is currently in her 4th year of HAVO. She is expecting to graduate in June, 2024. She is really excited for this new adventure and she cannot wait to play for an ambitious field hockey team in the Fall of 2024.
