Jin van der Lee

Jin van der Lee is a highly talented Dutch track and field athlete specializing in high jump, with triple jump as a secondary event. He is looking to join a competitive collegiate program in the fall of 2025. With a strong work ethic, explosive power, and a relentless drive for improvement, he has established himself as the #1-ranked U20 athlete in the Netherlands for both high jump (213cm) and triple jump (14,22m). Jin has already made his mark on the national stage and will represent his country at the upcoming U20 European Championships this summer. He is eager to take his performance to the next level in the USA.

About Jin van der Lee

Athletic History
Jin began his track and field journey at PAC Rotterdam, where he developed a deep passion for the sport. Over the years, the club has become his second home, not only as an athlete but also as a coach for U12 athletes and the U16 selection group. Additionally, he plays an active role in organizing events such as the club’s annual kids’ camp.His dedication to the sport has translated into impressive national success. At the 2023 Dutch National Outdoor Championships (U18), Jin secured three medals: gold for High Jump, silver for Triple Jump and bronze for Javelin. In 2025, he dominated at the Dutch Indoor National Championships (U20), winning gold in both high jump and triple jump, setting two new personal records, and achieving the European Qualification Standard (U20). The next weekend, he participated at the Senior National championships and he won the bronze medal with a new PR of 2.13m.


Performance Progression
Jin’s breakthrough in high jump came when he was 15, clearing 1.90m. His rapid improvement continued, reaching the 2.00m mark at 16. His year-to-year progress reflects his consistency and dedication:

Jin’s primary goal is to reach his full potential in high jump, competing at the highest level while contributing to his collegiate team. He is determined to continue improving his technique, strength, and consistency to push for international competition. While he enjoys competing in multiple events, high jump remains his top priority moving forward.

Academic Background

Jin graduated from high school in the Netherlands in the spring of 2024 and is currently taking a gap year to focus on his athletic development. He is interested in studying Mathematics, Biology, Economics, Kinesiology or Computer science at the collegiate level.
