Josefine Vierhout

Level

Josefine has been playing field hockey for 13 years now and currently plays for Assen Women 1. Even though Josefine still belongs in the junior age group, she has been moved up to the senior level for over a year now due to her field hockey, as well as maturity level.

Playing style

Josefine has the most experience as a central defender. One of her strengths is reading the play, and intercepting through balls from her opponents. Josefine’s strong tackles allow her to come up with the ball defensively. She has the ability to make quick decisions and give accurate passes to her teammates. Josefine is not afraid of the ball and known for her hustle, making her a strong fly on DPCs. Josefine is looking forward to learning a lot from the American style of field hockey and improving her attacking abilities. 

Academics

Josefine is expected to graduate the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) in June 2024. She’s expected to take the Duolingo and SAT in Fall of 2023.
