Julian Boele

Julian initially began his journey in Track & Field, because his father believed he was a very capable runner. Starting from around the age of 6, he participated in a local marathon for older kids every year. When he turned 12, he finally won the marathon. After that he started with a lot of mid distance running and allround trainings. 3 years ago, he was scouted by a pole vault coach during a training session. Since then, he shifted his focus to the jumping events and has been steadily improving. He is currently training with his local club team, Leiden Atletiek.

His major strength as an athlete is his discipline. He does not feel fulfilled unless he makes significant improvements during training sessions. This motivates him to put in extra work at home or in the next training session to strive for perfection. Julian quickly grasps technical aspects. Last year, he jumped a really big pr, which got his team a lot of points and he became national champion indoors. This year, he participated in his first international meet and became second.

His current PBs are

- pole vault 4.40m 

- long jump 5.77m

Julian's major athletic goal in the U.S.A. is to become the best athlete he can be. He wants to perform at his absolute best for his college team and get the most out of his collegiate running career. He hopes to jump a 5m+ in the United States. His dream is to make a living through his sport after his America adventure.

He graduated from a Dutch High school (havo) in June 2023. He is currently in the first year of the study of kinesiology and would like to continue this in the United States.
