Koen Zandvliet

Koen is a promising Dutch discus thrower with a passion for his sport. His dedication to discus throw began at a young age, choosing to specialize in this event at just 13. Remarkably, Koen has maintained a steadfast training relationship with his coach and club team, ATV Scorpio, ever since.

Throughout his athletic journey, Koen has achieved notable success. He secured second place at the Dutch National Championships U18/U20 twice and won a bronze medal on one occasion. Transitioning to the senior level in 2023, Koen secured an impressive 8th place at his debut National Championships in this category.

Koen's exceptional turning speed while throwing sets him apart, allowing for consistently smooth throws. He is currently focused on further refining his balance to enhance his performance.

Koen's personal bests in discus throwing are as follows:

- Discus 2kg: 45.53 meters

- Discus 1.75kg: 52.62 meters

- Discus 1.5kg: 55.42 meters

Standing tall at 197cm (6'6") and weighing 107kg (235 lbs), Koen brings physical prowess to his sport.
