Madelieve Drion

Level 

Madelieve is a Dutch player for Pinkoké MU18-1 1 in the Dutch National League. She excels as a midfielder/sweeper with her speed and technique. 

Madelieve started playing Field Hockey when she was 6 years old at HV Myra. After a couple of years, Madelieve could not develop herself any further here, so she decided to transfer to another club. After the tryouts, she was selected for the first U12 team at Pinoké, which is well known for its youth program. Ever since she was selected for the U12 team, Madelieve has played for the first line teams at Pinoké. With the U14 team, Madelive played in the playoffs for the Dutch national championship. Coaches still know her from the fenomenal goal that she made during that game. Also in the indoor competition, she played on the highest level. When she played in the U14 team, Madelieve was selected to play in the team from the district of North Holland. Which is a team for talented players in the region of North Holland. 

Playing style

Madelieve’s unique selling point is making an attacking action at high speed and playing give and go. She has strong technical skills and easily wins one on ones. Besides that, she has great footwork and strong motoric skills. With her overview of the field and her insight in the game, she understands where to pass a ball and when she receives the ball she is often one step ahead of the opponent. Madelieve has made a huge development over the past few years, because she understands things quickly and easily executes them. 

Academics

Madelieve is currently in her senior year of VWO and she is expected to graduate in June 2023. She is a great student that is dedicated and has high standards for herself. She got a 135 on her Duolingo and is planning on taking the SAT. She is interested in majoring in Neuroscience. She is looking to play at the top of college Field Hockey and wants to contribute great performances with her team, starting in the Fall of 2023.
