Meike Tjeerdema

Meike started playing volleyball at the age of six, joined VC Bolsward at the age of ten. At the beginning of last season she switched clubs again and started playing for VC Sneek, to play at a higher level and be able to improve even faster. 

Meike's strengths are evident in her role as a middle blocker. She is known for her attacking skills in different positions . Her powerful service and variety in attacking make her an amazing player on the court. Meike's versatility allows her to adapt and contribute significantly in various aspects of the game.

Meike has a strong team spirit, she will give everything for her team. That makes her a great team captain as well. 

Despite her strengths, Meike is committed to continuous improvement. She aims to develop into a more all-round player, enhancing her overall performance and contribution to the team. As said, Meike is an all-round player, she is so all-round and also has the passing skills under control, which gave her the ability to also play at the OPP/OH position. As a coach, it is very useful to have Meike on your team because she can be used at different positions.

Looking ahead to her college career in the United States, Meike is eager to have an amazing time while balancing her academic and athletic pursuits. She plans to work hard in both areas, aiming to excel on the court and in her studies.

Currently enrolled in VWO, the highest level of high school in the Netherlands, Meike expects to graduate in June 2026. She is mostly interested in studying criminology, psychology, or sociology.
