Mijael Herrejon Obregon

Mijael's tennis journey began at the age of 7 at VLTC, where the emphasis was on enjoyment rather than competitiveness. However, recognizing his passion for the sport a year and a half ago, Mijael took a significant step, temporarily leaving school in the Netherlands to focus solely on tennis. Under the guidance of coach Gabriele in Mexico, Mijael underwent intense training, resulting in substantial improvement over three months. Returning to the Netherlands, he continued to train rigorously with Focus Tennis Academy, supplementing his regimen with additional coaching and personal training sessions.

Mijael has further honed his skills at the Focus Tennis Academy in Rotterdam. His self-awareness shines through as Mijael identifies the need to enhance his physical strength. Devoting himself to regular, intensive exercises and pushing the limits in physical training, he is determined to build the necessary strength to elevate his game.

Despite facing a shoulder injury in the past, Mijael's dedication, particularly under the guidance of his personal trainer, has mitigated such concerns. He actively participates in tournaments, steadily improving his rating from a 6 KNLTB rating to aiming for a 4 by the year-end.

Academically, Mijael remains flexible, with an undeclared major and a GPA of 2.6. Eager to balance his academic pursuits with tennis, he looks forward to enrolling in the fall of 2024. Mijael emerges as a committed and disciplined athlete, poised to make significant strides both on the court and in his academic journey.
