Milou Heuker

Level

Milou has been playing at the highest level of youth hockey (Landelijk) for the past few years, often competing for national championships as one of the top teams in the league. Until age 14, Milou played for a smaller club and was invited to try out for Laren. She made the team and has been playing at the highest level ever since.

Playing style

Milou is a tenacious and tall (5’11) defender with great passing skills and an exceptional reach. She has experience as a central defender as wel as side back. She has a solid basic skill set, allowing her to play a dynamic game with a variety of passing options: hit, aerial and short connection push passes. Milou has an attacking mindset and knows how to position herself on the field to cut the lines and attack the D with speed, creating opportunities and APC’s for her team. In addition to wanting to be the best player on the field, Milou understands the importance of being a great teammate as well. She really enjoys connecting with her teammates, and hyping them up during practices and games.

High performance

Milou was selected to the U15 district team 2019-2020, allowing her to play with the best players of her age group of her region. The district teams are part of the pipeline for the Dutch national youth teams.

Additional information

Milou was an integral part of the National Championship run of Laren U18-1 in the 2022-2023 season. Her team made it to the semi final round in which Milou played full games as side back.

Academics

Milou is a strong and motivated student and expected to graduate the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) in 2024. She is expected to take the SAT and Duolingo in the Fall of 2023.
