Minke Stoker

Level

Minke has played at the highest levels of youth hockey most of her life (Super, (sub)topklasse) and has always been selected to the first selection teams of her club. She currently plays for Groningen U18-1 in the Super A league, the second highest level of youth hockey.

Playing style

Minke has experience playing as a central defender and central midfielder. As a central defender, she can use her accurate and powerful passing to find her teammates easily. She has a great overview of the field and uses it to find spaces to attack the opponent’s goal. As a central midfielder she is great at connecting the offense and defense with poised and smart passing. Minke has great starting speed and knows how to use her acceleration to move away from opponents after eliminating them. Minke has great game awareness and knows where to position herself to be(come) an easy outlet option for her teammates under pressure.

High performance

Minke has been selected to the Dutch U16 team, the U15 North-East regional team, and the U14 Northern regional team, allowing her to practice and play with the best players of her age group of the country and her region.

Additional athletic information

Minke was named captain of her club team (Groningen U16-1) last year, allowing her to grow her leadership skills.

Academics

Minke is a strong student and expected to graduate the highest level of Dutch high school (VWO) in 2024. She's expected to take the SAT and Duolingo in the Spring and/or Fall of 2023.
