Raoul Kerkdijk

Raoul started playing volleyball just four years ago. In his youth, he played a lot of soccer before deciding to switch to volleyball. Despite starting relatively late, his quick adaptation and dedication to honing his skills have propelled him to his current position.

Besides playing and training with his own team, Raoul also joined their second men’s team, competing at the top division level. This exposure to high-level competition contributes to his overall growth as a player and positions him as a dominant force on the court.

Raoul's standout strength lies in his formidable blocking skills, anchoring the defense and providing a robust presence at the net. His ability to rotate his shoulder at the net to exploit every corner of the court makes him a valuable player. Despite his young volleyball-playing age, there is still much to improve, such as his serve and defense, and optimizing his various positions in offense and blocking.

While excelling in his position, Raoul is dedicated to personal development. Areas he aims to improve include jumping power, speed, and overall explosiveness. This commitment to enhancing his physical attributes underscores his determination to elevate his game to new heights.

In the academic realm, Raoul is currently pursuing his high school education at the VWO level, the highest level of high school in the Netherlands. His major interests lie in the fields of communication and marketing.
