Romee van Dam

Romee started running at a very young age. When she was only 8 years old, she enrolled at her local track club AV Startbaan. Several years later she changed to her current club team Phanos because she was looking for more professional and individual coaching. This talented athlete became 2nd at junior indoor nationals in the hurdles and was ranked 5th U20 nationally outdoors (2021). 

Romee is a very strong and motivated athlete. One of her major strengths are her explosiveness and power. This contributes to her performance in the shorter sprint and hurdle events. Most recent indoor season (2022) she nationally ranked 15th in the 60m with a time of 7,98s which placed her 4th in the 60m at indoor nationals U20. This same championship she won the silver medal in the 60mh running a time of 8,77s. 

After this very successful season Romee is determined to keep up this progress and is excited for outdoors. This motivated and hard-working athlete is currently working to improve her top speed and is focusing on her hurdle technique and running form. 

Her current PB’s are: 

60m: 7,98s (2022)

60mh (83.3cm): 8,75s (2023)

100m: 12,96 (2020)

100mh (76.2cm): 14,52s (2021)

In the U.S.A Romee wants to get everything out of her athletic career and is looking for a strong college track team with professional coaching where she can accomplish this goal. She wants to run PBs in all her events, perform at her absolute best for het school and ultimately qualify for nationals. 

She is currently enrolled in the highest level of high school in The Netherlands (VWO). Romee is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2024 and is interested in doing a major in Business, Management, Marketing or Related Support Services.
