Yfke Walter

Level

Yfke currently plays for A.M.H.C. Rood-Wit Girls U18-1, with whom she competes at the highest level in the Netherlands (Landelijk). She has been a vital member of her team and leads by example. She has a lot of talent, which didn't go unnoticed by her club. She was selected to play with the Ladies First team, who compete in one of the best leagues in the Netherlands.

Playing style

Yfke is known as the most determined girl on the field who will do everything she can to win the game. She has high expectations of herself and takes pride in her discipline and passion. One of her best qualities is her vision on the field. She is able to read the game and can adapt to any situation. She understands where the free space is and how to run the press based on her opponent. On top of that, Yfke’s best quality is her adaptability. Her field hockey intelligence allows her to adjust to any preferred system. She understands the importance of communication and loves to coach her teammates on the field and connect with them on a deeper level off the field. 

Yfke is passionate about the game. She loves watching/analysing her games on video to learn from her mistakes. She wants to develop her skills and hopes to find a coach and team that matches her ambition. 

Academics

Yfke is a smart student that is expected to graduate at the highest educational level in the Netherlands (VWO) in June, 2024. She is planning on taking her SAT and Duolingo this year. She is undecided on her major.

Yfke is eager to learn more from her coaches and teammates and cannot wait to make a positive impact on her team starting in the Fall of 2024.
