Sports: Field Hockey

Entry semester: Fall 2024

Josefine Vierhout is 17 years old and lives with her parents and two brothers in Assen. She started playing field hockey when she was five years old, influenced by her parents and others around her who were also involved in field hockey. Despite trying various sports, such as horseback riding, field hockey turned out to be her true passion.

In her daily life, Josefine is highly motivated and social. She loves traveling and meeting new people. Both on and off the field, Josefine is someone you can always rely on. Furthermore, she is a hard worker who never gives up. This is evident in her role, for instance, when defending penalty corners on the field.

At her current club, Josefine feels that she has reached a point where she is no longer learning enough, prompting her desire to make the transition to America. In the United States, Josefine aims to become the best field hockey player she can be while also focusing on her academic development. All of this is done with the goal of obtaining a job in the future that brings her joy, as that has always been the most important aspect for Josefine.
