Sammie Schouten – Women’s tennis

In this article, we will tell you more about student-athlete Sammie Schouten. Furthermore, at the bottom of this article, you will find the video in which Sammie shares more about herself.

Sports: Tennis

Entry semester: Fall 2025

Sammie Schouten is 16 years old and has been playing tennis since she was a child. She used to play hockey alongside tennis, but since the age of eleven, she has dedicated her full focus to tennis. Sammie became a provincial champion at the age of twelve and was invited to train with the national team. In 2023, she even became dubbel National champion.

In her daily life, Sammie is a very sociable person. She is not shy and easily makes friends. She already has friends all over the world. Within sports, Sammie is mentally very strong and she enjoys giving her full one hundred percent at all times.

In America, Sammie wants to become the best version of herself, both within and outside of sports. She hopes to tap into her full potential and make a lot of new friends. She calls herself a “connector” and will be a valuable addition to her team.
