In this article we tell you more about student-athlete Lotje Aalderink, in addition, at the bottom of this article you will find the video in which Lotje tells more about herself.

Sports: Field Hockey
Entry semester: Fall 2024

Seventeen-year-old Lotje comes from the small village of Oosterbeek. Because of this, she can’t wait to move to the big America. She started playing hockey when she was 5 years old and has always enjoyed it, particularly the high level of competition is something Lotje finds challenging. She also enjoys skiing and sailing occasionally.

As a person, Lotje is genuine, enthusiastic, open-minded and has strong opinions, but she also listens well to others. She is (almost) always happy, and she wants to bring this spirit to America as well, believing in the power of “together strong.”

Lotje will push through and give her all until the final whistle. She works hard for the team but also for herself, aiming to bring out the best on the field every time. Hockey is, of course, a team sport, so she will always work hard to lift her team up when they’re struggling.

In America, she wants to have a great hockey experience while balancing her academics. This has been her dream since childhood. Lotje has great game insight, allowing her to coach her team effectively. As a defender, she often delivers accurate long passes to the forwards.

“I hope to learn a lot from the girls in America, and I hope to share my specialties with them as we strive together for the throne.”
