Myrthe Nienhuis

Level

Myrthe plays for Forescate U18-1 at the fourth highest level of youth hockey in The Netherlands. She’s one of the leading players of her team and has frequently played for the Women 1 team (made her debut at age 15), allowing her to get used to the more physical style of senior hockey. Myrthe has also taken part in practices and selections for youth teams that play the highest youth league (Landelijk) but has decided to stay loyal to her own club and team and developing herself herself on a personal level. 

Playing style

Myrthe has a knack for setting up her teammates in scoring positions in front of the cage. She has the skills to eliminate, but also the composure and vision to make the right decisions that lead to dangerous attacking situations. Myrthe has great tactical awareness and usually finds herself in the right position on defense and offense. She is a skilled player and is know for her dangerous attacking impulses. She’s working on improving her hit on goal and making quicker and hoping to learn even more from the fast paced style of college hockey.

Academics

Myrthe is expected to graduate Dutch high school (HAVO) in June 2023. 

Additional information

Myrthe has been a part of multiple championship teams. She knows what it takes to win and can’t wait to work towards championships in the USA.
