Jelmar van der Moolen

Jelmar has been playing at a high level since a very young age. From 12 to 15 years old, he played for ADO Den Haag in the highest division in the Netherlands (Eredivisie). Afterwards, he transferred to Alphense Boys U17 in the Dutch 3rd division, playing there for a year. In that same season, Jelmar got selected for the selection of the KNVB U16, being also scouted for a trial at Heerenveen U17 (first-divison). In the 2020/2021 season, played the cup match against PSV U18. Also selected for a trial at Almere City U17.

He is a player that has awareness and sense of positioning. Jelmar has a keen eye for predicting a striker’s next move and sensing when to cut off the danger or make a vital interception. He has a good communication along the backline as well. His strongest point is definitely 1v1s as he has a good timing and knows when to tackle the ball. When to stand his ground, when to jockey and when to actually make a sliding or standing tackle are his greatest attributes. Jelmar knows how to retain possession and does well at staying calm and collected on the ball. He often uses their instant acceleration to great effect. He is considered a deep-lying playmaker due to his ball playing abilities. He is agile, fast and has a great crossing ability.
