Berend Harms is a Dutch mid-distance track athlete specialized in 400m and 800m events. He is the current Dutch national U18 champion on the 800m and attends the International School of Amsterdam where he is an excellent International Baccalaureate (IB) student. He is looking to join a college with a competitive Track & Field team and prestigious academics in the Fall of 2021.
It wasn’t just a coincidence that Berend was the fastest in his soccer team. When he was 14 he decided to try out for the Track and Field team, which he enjoyed greatly. He turned out to be surprisingly good, setting record after record, getting noticed early on; he has been invited to race at Papendal, the Dutch olympic training center, trains at training centres with national and European U20 champions and has been selected to train with one of the most prestigious running teams in the Netherlands, the Team Distance Runners.
Berend has a lot of potential and we believe he is able to further improve a lot. With proper guidance and coaching, Berend believes that he has it in him to become a professional Track & Field athlete and be competitive in international championships. The right college Track & Field team will make the best version of himself! His PB's include:- 800m - 1:50.61 (2021)- 400m - 49.18
Berend is currently enrolled in an International Baccalaureate program (IB) with a predicted grade of 36 out of 45 points and is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2021.
