Gijs van Eif is a strong and technical striker from the Netherlands who continued his soccer and study adventure in America at Georgian Court University. After graduating from high school in 2022, he made the move to start at an ambitious college soccer program in Fall 2023.
From The Graafschap to college soccer
Gijs grew up within the professional youth training program of De Graafschap, where he played for the U18. He played weekly against top teams such as Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord, and he also proved his worth in international practice matches against Borussia Mönchengladbach, among others. His time at De Graafschap shaped him into a complete striker: physically strong, technically proficient and always dangerous in front of goal.
A striker with killer instinct
Gijs is the prototype of a modern striker. He knows how to use his body perfectly as a target man, but is also quick enough to be played into the depths. He has an impeccable feel for where he needs to be in the sixteen and is deadly in his finishing with both foot and head. He is also of great value without the ball: always on the move, chasing the ball and putting pressure on the opponent.
American dream
His goal was clear: study at a good university, continue to play soccer at a high level, and above all, find joy in his sport again. He succeeded. At Georgian Court University, he found the perfect mix of academics and sports. The transition to the American system took some getting used to, but now he has found his feet completely – resulting in many playing minutes and successes.

Together with Slamstox

With his ambition, work ethic and international experience, Gijs is a great asset to any team. And his adventure has only just begun.
