Goal-oriented, loyal and ready for the big time
Anouk Westerink is everything you look for in a modern striker: focused, technically strong and blessed with excellent game insight. As striker of HC Ede U18-1 she played for years in the highest youth levels of the Netherlands, including the Super B and Super A competition. With her club she played at a high level, but she always remained loyal to her team – even when other clubs from the top division approached her.
Anouk’s ambition was evidenced by her invitation to try out for the Dutch U18 national team. Yet she continued to choose her own path, in which team spirit and personal growth were central.
A real goal scoring machine
Anouk is known as a real goalgetter. In her last season with Ede, she scored 38 goals, leaving her mark on the league. But she is more than just a finisher – she reads the game extremely well and knows exactly when to lay off or strike. Her strength lies in her combination of instinct, intelligence and an indomitable drive to win.
In addition, she is a connecting force within the team. She motivates, coaches and knows how to make others better – something she quickly gained recognition for in America.
Slamstox match: Towson University
Anouk enlisted Slamstox to combine her athletic and academic ambitions. She proved to be a proactive, well-organized student-athlete, making the process go smoothly. The match with Towson University was quickly made. With a full athletic scholarship in her pocket, Anouk left for the U.S., ready to make the most of herself.
Although it took some getting used to the intensity of the American system, she adapted quickly. Her first season was an immediate success: she was named Rookie of the Year and has since become team captain. This proves that she is not only talented, but also a leader.

What will the future bring?
With a strong start in her pocket, Anouk looks confidently to the future. She wants to continue to develop in the coming years, both on the field and in the college ranks. Her goal is clear: get better, contribute to her team, and get the most out of her adventure in the United States.
Anouk Westerink is THE example of how, with talent, character and perseverance, you can start a new chapter and be successful, on both sides of the ocean.
