Talented Dutch tennis player Kyvan Rietkerk was known early on as one of the greatest promises of his generation. During his junior career, he belonged to the absolute top of the Netherlands. In both singles and doubles, he became Dutch champion several times and represented his country at international tournaments. After graduating from high school, Kyvan decided to pursue his tennis future in the United States, a choice that took his development to an even higher level.
From national top to college tennis
Kyvan had a clear goal in mind: to play at the highest level and in the process secure an athletic scholarship to make his dream come true in America. Thanks to his impressive record, he quickly received a lot of interest from various universities. Although Kyvan trained at the top level there, he did not get as much playing time as hoped in his first year. Wanting to develop further by playing more games, he decided to transfer to Kennesaw State University after that season, a decision that worked out perfectly.
Success on and off the track
Since his transfer to Kennesaw State, Kyvan has had an impressive season. He played almost all matches and achieved a large number of victories for his team. His hard work did not go unnoticed: in 2025, he even captured his first ATP points for the world ranking, a milestone for any aspiring tennis player.
The transition to the American system took some getting used to at first, but now Kyvan feels right at home. He enjoys the combination of intense training, competitive matches and his academic program. As he says himself, “It’s really super thick here. I’m having the best time of my life!”
