Macedonian tennis star Ivana Milkova started her adventure in American college tennis in the fall of 2024. With an impressive UTR a National title on her name and a tremendous drive to keep developing herself, it was only a matter of time before Ivana would make the move to the U.S. At McKendree University, she found the ideal combination of a strong tennis program, excellent academic opportunities AND a full scholarship.
Strong at the net and in the classroom
Ivana has always be among the best young tennis players in northern Macedonia. She became National champion in 2022 and ranked No. 3 in her country’s U18 rankings. Her style of play is characterized by powerful, flat strokes with which she likes to dominate the rally. Her inside-in forehand is her weapon of choice, set up perfectly with deep cross backhands.

Ivana knew from the beginning what she wanted: to play college tennis at the highest level with a good scholarship. At the same time, she wanted to study at a university where she could develop academically toward a career after tennis. The Role of Slamstox

A special moment in this process was the visit of Ivana’s father to our office in Eindhoven. During a soccer trip to the Netherlands, he came to watch a PSV match, he turns out to be a big fan, and immediately took the time to get acquainted in person. A nice vote of confidence in the process!
Smooth transition and strong start
The transition to college life in the U.S. went smoothly for Ivana. She immediately felt at home with her team and coaches, and started the season strong. Her competitive spirit and professional attitude make her a valuable addition to McKendree University’s varsity team.
